Zune Software Update 3.1

It's out.
Settings > General > Check for updates.

I haven't updated it, but there is an update.
Thanks to Rockman87 for pointing out the new games and Keenum for the source that says there was an update today.

And there's also a firmware 3.1, but you have to update the software first.

Freakin' finally! Hopefully this will resolve some or all of the bugs that plagued 3.0 users-I didn't get any though.

Installed it and tried out the space game... nothing new noticed yet, but I'm thinking it was primarily bug fixes and the addition of the new games.

Didn't brick my Zune, so that's always good... though it didn't come with free pizza

On my Zune software i keep getting an error whenever I search for new updates

If you read the ULA, you will see that the new zune version has a copy of its code that is open for redistribution .

Also, the mix view is different. it has more artist background now, then just the collage. moreover, it takes more resources. increased the sync time for movies and decreased the sync time for music. brighter colors. also removed the custom background hack. changed a few hotkeys commands (no more ctrl + alt +insert (or home, end...)

and some bugs like login errors.

As for the zune update, i have no idea, i have yet to connect my zune.

Stuck at 99% for a half hour... sigh

Each and every time time the Zune software update has stalled at 99% for me. Why can't MS release something which works off the bat without needing the user to jump through hoops to get things to work?

Ya man i feel for you same problem every time (exept this time, it actually worked!) Try dealing with that on a dial up modem it literally took me a week to get it working on my computer. If its not going to work they should atleast give an error that tells you why it doesnt work instead of taking you to the website that says 'an unknown error occourred'. I love the Zune but the software and the way it has been handled certainly has provided me some of the most frustrating times ever.

1 hour and counting. No problems as of yet.

BTW: Checkers is okay. Graphics are pretty nice, but the AI needs some work. Was able to beat it rather easily. Only had to use one of the pieces on the back row.

My zune is 3.1 now ^_^ Nothing big just new games, i like the checkers also their is an option to join rooms?!?!(for checkers) o0

I just tried space battle game play is smooth, i love how we are able to customize the ship. Also it has touch suport and d-pad so older zunes can play this game. In my opinion the touch support controls the ship better than the d-pad. I unistalled all the space shooters i had on my zune. Also when you exit the game you get a screen cracked effect.

Finally i have sudoku on the go! I usally do sudoku while i wait for the bus.

I'm disapointed that i dont have my quicklist back

i hate this now playing list. I thought they would bring it back in this update =/

Other than that all the games are great, i never had problems with my zune before and no known errors after updating to 3.1 =)
