Default Zune software thinks its still installed

Alright so first my Zune software wouldn't startup (probably because i touched a registry key i shouldnt have although everything was how it should be when i checked it) so i tried to fix it to no avail. I waited about a month (now) to try again and used Unzoone (not realizing until later im not supposed to anymore) and now my Zune software thinks its installed when its not.
Problems:
Zune software won't startup
Zune software won't install
and i did go back and delete every Zune registry key to try and install it to no avail.
PLEASE HELP

Well... you have now really messed around with the registry too much, which means the solutions are not pleasant, unless you backed up the registry when you first played with it. Yes... I know, you didn't... or you wouldn't be here. (why do so many people skip simple safety steps like backups...? I'll never know...)
I would install ccleaner, and use it's registry cleaner. It's relatively benign and so is relatively safe. BUT BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY CHANGES when it offers to do so.
Reboot then try to reinstall zune. It may work, if so you are all set.
It may fail... if so, you are looking at a windows reinstall...

Note to everyone else: registry cleaners are generally smoke and mirrors. claims they will speed up your PC are 99.9% false (they may speed up boot up by a second or two, occasionally under the perfect circumstances. they also may remove keys incorrectly and muck up your pc badly. MS fixed the registry back in the old days prior to XP, and the need to 'clean' the registry disappeared, but not the folks trying to get you to buy or download their cleaners.)

I just had Norton 360 do that but, I'll use registry cleaner as well I'm getting the feeling that I'll have to do a Windows reinstall (that i know to backup stuff) but i think a better alternative would be to use my other PC if it comes down to that.
UPDATE: It didn't work thanks anyway I followed your instructions completely and I'm back to square one.

I can point you in the right direction if you need to do a reinstall of Windows.

Are you running XP, Vista, or 7?
