I HATE the SmartDJ. I want to play my tracks in the order they were intended. It drives me insane that I can't switch over to the Zune app and see what hasn't played yet on the album.
It's even worse on my WP7 phone where clicking an album cover plays the SmartDJ mix by default.
I've been loyal to the platform since my first brown Zune, through the software rewrite, and this terrible, terrible excuse for a feature has made me cringe daily for every long month since its launch. I keep hoping for an update, a post, anything to make it stop.
Please, let there be a way to make it stop. Control over my music is important enough to make me jump to another platform. I'm ready to start looking and bad enough there's no Mango 7.5 phone that takes a MicroSD chip like my Focus. I used to think nothing could be as bad as iTunes but this "feature" is a serious contender.
Are you sure you know what Smart DJ is? Smart DJ finds similar songs to the one you want to play, and plays them. It is started by long-pressing on a song, album, or artist and selecting "play smart dj mix". Normally, Windows Phone and the Zune software will play songs from an album in order, unless shuffle is turned on. It sounds like you have shuffle turned on.

If you were using SmartDJ, it wouldn't just play songs out of order, it would be playing songs from different albums and entirely different artists as well. It's a smart playlist generator.
