Zune 4.8 stuck at checking for updates during install

The Zune Software 4.8 will never pass the checking for updates screen unless i hit the spacebar, then it just does some of the files, and then says its complete, then does nothing. I checked where it puts the files and only some language folders are placed without any dlls or executables.

When i rerun the setup Zune claims to be fully up to date which is obvious bs.

Ive tried the microsoft fixit thingy for the zune software which allows me to retry installing it but it always ends the same way.

This started after i had moved the Zune folder to my C drive because the E drive had to be removed and i hadnt thought to uninstall zune first...

Help?

EDIT: After manually editing the registry and removeing every last entry with the word zune in it i got the software to install

I have been trying everything to get this stupid program uninstalled so i could reinstall and this finally worked! I am not sure if this was all i needed to use because i had gone through and deleted most of the registry files before but you should give this a try!
Hope this works for you!
If this does not work try to go through your whole computer and delete all of the files related to zune program(except music, video, pics) and try again!
