Yes, today, the new apps and app updates were released to the Zune marketplace. We've all been waiting for a long time for this, and the day has come. The apps include Bees!, Run and Jump, Echoes, Supernova, 3D Picture Puzzle, Notes, Level, Fan Prediction, and Reversi (Othello). We also received updates for the Twitter app, Windows Live Messenger, and Solitaire. Let me break it down with descriptions of the games:
3D Picture Puzzle:
In this game, you shift and turn tiles to solve a puzzle, but two puzzles are mixed together on two different layers. You must switch the tiles from side to side in this challenging puzzle game.
Echoes:
Developed by Halfbrick (studio that released the hit title Fruit Ninja), you can jump into this action-puzzle game. Your goal: Collect all gems that appear in the level. The tricky part is avoiding your "echoes" that run in the path you took to get the gems. After a while, the echos build up, and the difficulty rises.
Level:
A utility app that uses the Zune as a surface and spirit level.
Bees!:
This strategy game involves you sending multiple types of bees to gather pollen, while at the same time avoiding vicious dangerous bears and other wildlife who try to stop the bees. Collect all of the pollen to win.
Fan Prediction:
Predict the final scores of games for college and professional sporting events.
Notes:
Finally, an official notes app to write to-do lists, shopping lists, homework-anything!
Reversi:
An app that lets you play the classic game of reversi or Othello. Play against a bot or friends.
Run and Jump:
This difficult puzzle-strategy game makes you select directional blocks to take certain paths to get to the exit.
Supernova:
Tap on stars to create chain-reactions of exploding stars!
Besides those, Play2Mobile's Tuginator, Bug Splatter, and Young Ninja are still in development. Babaroga, the studio that released Space Battle 2 and Bees!, is also working on three more apps.
Though this was a big app release-the biggest we've seen in a while-what do you think of the apps? I was hoping for more utilities and less games, but we'll see what comes next update.
