New features revealed for the spring update

The long rumored "spring update" we've been hearing so much about is apparently just around the corner. We've known for a while that Microsoft would be giving us features like Xvid or DivX and that SmartDJ would be coming to the ZuneHD. But that's not all.

Today we learned that the "Hearts" system (like/neutral/dislike) will be used to analyze the music you like and suggest new tunes for you.

The Zune HD dock will be utilized more effectively as well. You will now be able to do more than connect your zHD to your TV and play music and movies from the device (through the dock, of course). With the update, you will be able to stream music directly from Zune Marketplace. This means you can check out the New Releases, look at music that is suggested for you, or search for a specific album, artist, or song. SmartDJ playlists will be even easier to create- do it right on your TV.

All in all, the update sounds good so far unless you're a Generation 1 or 2 owner; you aren't getting any update love, just the Zune HD owners.

I noticed. Im mostly too lazy too rate. I like the heart ratings. they are simple and point out what you like. I am so indecisive when it comes to stars.
