Zune 80 not turning on or charging

I have a Zune 80 that I haven't used since December 2010 and I tried to charge it today but it will not charge. The Zune software does not recognize it and it will not turn on. Is it just too old? I know it isn't broken because it hasn't been used in 2 years.

Give it a good long charge to be sure... at least an hour or two. If you still have the issue, it's the battery. Unfortunately, if you let a Lithium Ion battery discharge below a certain critical voltage, it cannot recharge.
