Default ZuneHD Digital Scale

So I was wondering exactly how to go about programming a digital scale or even if someone already has... I suppose this should be in the application suggestions sub-board but let's face it, you need something done, you gotta do it yourself, even when it comes to breaking the rules.

I'm pretty sure a thread about this was made a while ago and it was ruled impossible because something about the touch screen not sensing something.i don't really know, i forget

"The touch screen of the Zune HD device can detect multiple touches and the pressure of each touch. The touch screen can track up to four separate touch locations at the same time. Each location tracks values such as screen location, pressure of the touch, and the state of the touch (such as pressed or released). These touch locations and their information is stored in a TouchCollection structure."

Why is it not possible? I mean it might not be accurate, but it sure is doable.

a capacitive touch screen only senses touches from things with nerves, as it (I think) is triggered by our nerve impulses
if the ZHD had a resistive screen, then this would be possible )

Nope...the HD touch screen senses changes in capacitance. there are pressure sensitive and infrared touch sensors as well, but those are different technologies and not used in the zHD. And thus, there is no way to use the HD to sense weight, other than the obvious. (If it breaks, whatever it was, was too heavy.)

The pressure on the screen measured in XNA is really just how much of the finger is on the screen. When it is pressed down harder, more skin from the finger touches the screen, so it detects a higher pressure.

Here's an idea: don't stand on your Zune HD.
